Where You Carry Extra Weight Affects Health
Many people think that just having extra weight is bad mainly for vanity reasons. Not only does having excess fat on your body bad for your health it also matters where you carry extra fat on your body. Where you store body fat can lead to different types of health issues. Having the majority of extra weigh tin your middle area or stomach is a much greater risk than if you have extra weight on your lower body.
The most common area that men gain weight is in the middle section. This is why you hear terms such as beer belly and pot belly. Women usually sore weight in different areas than men. The butt, thighs and hips are where most weight collects on women. This gives them a pear shape due to where the fat is located on their body.
Some of the common health issues people that develop a pear shape body encounter later on in life are heart disease, hypertension and diabetes. Cancer is also another known illness that pear shape bodies end up with. Whether you put on a beer belly or weight in the thighs and hips it is most likely hereditary. It is on your genes passed along to you to have a certain body type. This means if your parents fit one of these categories then you most likely will as well unless you exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Things you can avoid to keep this unwanted weight off if you are predisposed are over eating and drinking since alcohol often metabolizes into stored fat if it is not burnt off.
