PS3 Sale Price
Searching for a PS3 on sale can be a daunting task. It seems that the demand is high enough that most stores don’t run sales or when they do it’s not much of a discount. It can be discouraging if you’re trying to save a few bucks.
I know how you feel! The justifcation for the purchase may have been difficult in the beginning but there was plenty of it in the end. I figured I could sell all my old PS2 games and console and start building a PS3 fund. I’ve given serious thought to cleaning out my closet, trying to find some of those old jeans that now seem to be in fashion and see if I could sell them on eBay. I’ve even gone through my garage looking for tools that I don’t use to sell them online. I even once had a garage sale to sell all my old junk so I could fund the purchase of the PS3. Not including my time I made about $50. I don’t recommend garage sales as you’ll end up getting less money for your stuff! You’ll make much more money selling your stuff on eBay.
I’ve been there before. You seem to get so much more from the PS3 than from the Xbox or Wii. The fact that it is Blu-Ray is a huge selling point for me. I could not only play HD games on it but I could now watch all my movies in HD as well. Try selling that angle to the wife! Truthfully, once I got my wife hooked on Hi-Def TV we’ve never looked back. At the end of the day it turned out to be easy to persuade her to get the PS3 on every front except the price.
I’ve been digging around for a while and I’ve discovered that to get the best price on the best game system that plays Blu-Ray you can’t get a better value than with a PS3. Even when it’s not on sale! You can buy a Blu-Ray DVD player for your movies but it will not play PS3 games. While XBox does offer HD it is not the preferred format. If at all possible I wanted to get the PS3 at a discount.
I searched on eBay and some other traditional auction sites and found that there really aren’t any PS3 Sale Prices out there. You have to spend more than you normally would and get a “bundle” to really get the value. The goal here is to spend as little money as possible, not more.
In the end I had to get outside the box. I started investigating unique bid auction sites. You’ll find a few out there for sure but one stands above the rest, www.auctions4acause.com. They have much more selection among everyday items than most of the other sites including the PS3. You’ll find cars, boats and vacations on the other sites. That’s all well and good but I just want a PS3!
I knew I had a winner when I found that site. They had the item I wanted and it was possible for me to get it very cheap. I went there and created an account. I rung up 3 bids and knew I had the lowest and unique bid. Unfortunately, I didn’t get it the first time. I had to wait until the next one came up for bid. I placed a few more bids and slept well that night. Bingo! I won this time. About 6 days later I was unpacking the new PS3. $59 was all I had spent.64. Pretty darn good, huh?
It can take a few minutes of reading to truly grasp the concept of the lowest unique bid auction style. After you grasp the idea you could become addicted. Since that time that I won the PS3 I’ve bid on and won 3 other items including an iPod Nano (they have the best iPod Prices) and $400 gas card. I’ve won over $1,200 worth of stuff for about $350 in bid fees.
If you’re looking for the best prices don’t bother with the Best Buys or Walmarts. Go register at Auctions4aCause and get a great deal.
