Jakarta
Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia, and is on the island of Java. The population is about 10 million. Dominant religion is Islam in Jakarta, and the currency is the Rupiah. In Jakarta the climate is very hot and humid. For the six months from April, the air temperature will hover around 30 degrees Celsius. It was rainy season from October to February, it’s a little bit cooler and there is lots of rain, often torrential.
The City of Jakarta was born in 1527, when a small town called Sunda Kelapa was occupied by Prince Fatahillah,The King of Cirebon and he renamed his conquest Jakarta, the translation as a Great victory. The city was again in 1619 renamed to Batavia under the supervision of the Japanese during World War II. Martial law was declared in 1957 and the period of unrest followed. At the end of the ninety-ten of nineteen, with the collapse of the economy and a widespread opinion about corruption of government, chaos happened in Jakarta, where 500 people died and more political tensions and social developments in the region.
Thus, Jakarta maybe is not the first choice for travelers, but in recent years the facilities for visitors have improved considerably and there are enough luxury hotels, good restaurants, shops and nightlife. Of course, there is another traditional architecture and tourist attractions and diversity of operational when we discuss about Jakarta. It is a mixture of modern and traditional, rich and poor. The Nations motto is unity in diversity, and also the local language has two types: a word of the elderly was born and raised in the city, while others are young and immigrants.
National monument, known as “MONAS” obelisk is 137 meters high, where visitors can climb for a view of the city. At the bottom of the monument is a museum tells the story of “MONAS” and the city itself. We can also take a look at the Central Museum where it has a rich collection of fascinating objects Stone Age. Visitors are not difficult to find a way museum, with a large stone elephant situated in the front yard.
There is some great attraction also,contribute by Jaya Ancol Dreamland. It is an amusement park where you can find the pool, boating, golf, even artificial lake for fishing! There was the aquarium, daily shows sea lions and dolphin circus.. It’s also has numerous restaurants, discos and hotels. Taman Impian Jaya Ancol is a good spot to spend your holiday with your kids and family.
Jakarta is a fascinating mixture of old and new, has much to offer the tourists. An unusual destination, and go to town with a story to tell and exciting experience behind them.
