Incomparable Child Nursery Bedding Sets Don’t Come With Pillows
There are a lot of concerns and decisions to make for new, expecting parents when it comes to decorating the room for their new baby. New parents ask themselves if they should use cloth or disposable diapers; if one of them should stay home with the child or will a day-care facility be better for their lifestyle; how much they will have to change their lives in order to take care of their little one. Most parents don’t consider the theme for their infant’s crib set.
Gifts brought for baby showers range from home-made booties, to noise-making toys. Along with all the other baby gifts come a series of blankets, receiving cloths, pillows, and stuffed animals that are all intended to be used around the child while he is sleeping. When thinking about nursery decor, the question of which items are safe for the baby and which are not comes up, because many baby items, while really cute, are not necessarily safe to be in with the child.
What are the safest kinds of nursery decorations on the market? Bedding for cribs that is too fluffy can be dangerous to your baby because they don’t have the ability to move things like adults can. Fluffy objects like a fluffy blanket can cause suffocation in babies if they move their head into it while sleeping.
You can still use the fluffy blanket your mother-in-law sent you, but use it when you have control of what is going into the baby’s mouth. Look for baby bedding that is neither fluffy nor lumpy; it should be almost as flat as the average sheet. Use the bedding, if you need it, when you are holding the baby only and never in the crib with the baby if it is furrier than your average sheet or blanket. Bedding can be soft but never furry.
Small infants do not need pillows and if you do put them on a pillow, most of them will squirm off of it. Most babies lay flat out on their backs in the crib, or on their stomachs if they are old enough to roll over, and turn their head to one side. While a parent may think of a pillow as a comfort, for the baby, having a pillow in the crib is not comfort, but danger, as babies do not have the ability to move a pillow that might be obstructing their ability to breathe. This makes it unnecessary, in fact unwise to include pillows with a crib set. You won’t find them with the sets you buy, including Max baby bedding set.
A crib or bed is no place to store stuffed animals, which pose a bigger threat than the softest, fullest blankets or even pillows–which are never included in baby bedding sets. Because of the nature of a stuffed animal, the child may be prone to hug the animal to them and then be unable to push it away if it becomes a problem.
