How to Get Rid of Bed Bugs

April 4th, 2010

Wouldn’t you like to learn how to get rid of bed bugs when you know these pests are the cause of all your skin bites?

Bed bugs are darkish reddish brown oval shaped wingless insects about ¼ inches long.  During the day, they hide inside mattresses, box springs, cracks and crevices in floors and walls.  At night they crawl out to find a human body to suck blood from when they are hungry.

Some people will develop an allergic response to the saliva bed bugs leave after they have bitten their victims.  A trip to a doctor may be needed to treat the symptoms.

Knowing how to get rid of bed bugs will save you and your family from experiencing anymore suffering that these bites may cause.

To get rid of bed bugs, the first thing you need to do is positively identify the pest.  Pictures of bed bugs are available online to help you do this.  Before you take the necessary steps to eliminate bed bugs, you must make sure you see a live bed bug to be sure they are the cause of your bites.

Don’t throw out your bedding yet.  Expose your mattresses, box springs and bed frames and clean and vacuum them thoroughly.  Use bed bugs spray like Pronto Kill Bed Bugs and Dust Mites Spray to spray the seams and folds of your mattresses and box springs and inside the cracks and crevices of your bedroom floors and walls.

Let your mattress and box spring dry before replacing the sheets.  Cover your mattresses and box springs with AllerZip Waterproof Bed Bug Proof Zippered Bedding Encasement or Protect-A-Bed Bed Bug Proof Box Spring Encasement.  It will seal them to prevent bed bugs from entering or escaping.  Trapped bed bugs inside mattresses and box springs will eventually die.  You won’t have to throw them out and you could save the hundreds of dollars it would cost if you had to buy a new set.
